Fish from Alaska is back!

We are very excited to announce that we will have some limited quantities and varieties of responsibly caught, top-quality fish and seafood straight from Alaska back by popular demand and available at the CSA starting this week!

El Pescado Bravo offerings that we will have initially this season include:

  • King Salmon
  • Coho Salmon
  • Salmon Bellies/Tips
  • Smoked King
  • Halibut Trim
    Smoked Black Cod
  • Keta Salmon
    Keta Novalox

Descriptions:

King salmon is the largest of the salmon we receive, and is the highest in fats (the good ones!) with a smooth, melting texture, making it a favorite among chefs and seafood-eaters alike.

Silver, or coho, salmon is packed with omega-3 fatty acids and essential nutrients. Its milder flavor and leaner profile compared to other salmon species make it a versatile choice for a wide range of culinary preparations.

Halibut is rich in protein, vitamins, and minerals. This cold-water white fish is known for its delicate, mild flavor and flaky texture. It is a wonderful canvas for your favorite culinary spices and sauces.

Sablefish, also known as black cod or “butterfish”, is a rich, white fish that lives in cold, northern waters. It has a buttery flavor and velvety texture making it indulgent and nourishing.

Keta Salmon has historically not been marketed as a high value fish. But it’s all just as tasty, rich in protein, lower fat/ taste but higher oil content. Everyone should be able to afford great quality protein.

Stay tuned for more varieties and quantities post-Thanksgiving and into the new year, as the fishing season wraps up and supplies last!

El Pescado Bravo is led by:

Ricardo, a Tucson native who manages an artisan fish processing plant in southeast Alaska, oversees the expert handling of the fish from boat to freezer.

Bridget, a commercial fisherman in Bristol Bay, has been involved in fisheries around Alaska since 2018 and brings her passion for sustainable, wild seafood.

Together, we are connecting the highest quality Alaskan seafood to landlocked seafood lovers of southern Arizona.
