Holiday Season at TCSA

There is LOTS going on from now until the end of the year at Tucson CSA so we want to give you all a heads up to plan ahead. Read on for information on Winter Hours, holiday candies and chocolate, holiday pop- up markets and our annual winter break dates.

First off – if you have not yet reserved a turkey for Thanksgiving – get your $20 deposit in soon! We are able to offer these pasture-raised turkeys by Josh at Chiricahua Pasture Raised Meats for a nice discount from what you will find elsewhere, but still at a price that supports the farmer and humanely-raised animals. Plan on $5.75 per pound for turkeys that mostly are around 18-20 pounds – some smaller, some larger. First-come, first-available on both days – November 19th and 20th – one week before Thanksgiving so you have time to thaw!

Winter hours – We will begin our winter hours – 4pm – 6:30pm (one half hour earlier) and continue them from November 15th – March 15th. The first week that pick-ups close at 6:30pm will be November 19/20. We recognize that this may take some planning to arrive earlier for a few of you and will allow some grace period through the end of November. As it did last year, this allows for you (and our volunteers) to be at pick up in the lighter, less cold hours of the afternoon/evening, and hopefully home a little earlier, too.

Chocolates and Caramels – Yes, it is almost that time of year again when we will sell Epic Fine Chocolates from Snowflake, AZ – starting the week of November 12/13 – as well as Tucson’s very own Agave Pantry Caramels by Shazieh – starting the week of November 19/20. Both will be kept in stock (as best we can!) through the end of the year. They make great gifts and/or treats for yourself!

Holiday pop-ups – We will have two weeks of holiday pop-up markets this year during the first two weeks of December. These are great ways to shop local, find special, hand-crafted gifts, and all at the convenience while picking up your CSA share! Stay tuned for more details on the great local vendors we will have ready to offer you the perfect local gift.

Winter holiday break dates – As a reminder, Tucson CSA will close over the holidays for the last week in December and the first week in January.

Last pick-up of 2024 – December 17/18

First pick-up of 2025 – January 7/8

Wishing you all a wonderful, happy holiday season ahead!
