Tucson CSA celebrates 20 Years!
Help us celebrate Tucson CSA’s 20 year anniversary (!) the week of February 13 & 14 during regular pick-up hours. Whether you just recently joined, have been a member for years, or are one of our “originals” for most of the past 20 years, we invite you linger during your pick-up to enjoy some light treats (savory & sweet), listen to local musicians, and make a small “valentine” or thank you card to one of our farmers! We will have supplies and baskets and would love to pass along YOUR appreciation for your favorite veggies directly to our farmers. THANK YOU for being a part of the TCSA family & Happy Anniversary!
Tucson CSA was founded by Philippe Waterinckx, who met Farmer Frank of Crooked Sky Farms while he and Daniela Diamente were conducting a graduate research project at the University of Arizona. Philippe’s conviction to start a Community Supported Agriculture program and make local organic produce more accessible to Tucsonans was so strong that he started Tucson CSA on his back porch in 2004. Membership at Tucson CSA quickly grew, and soon Philippe moved operations to our current location at the Historic Y. Sara Jones joined Philippe as the second staff member and, with her extensive farming and cooking experience, quickly became an irreplaceable stalwart. Daniela and Sara continue to run the TCSA as co-directors. Read more about our story.
Tucson CSA has thrived through many bumps in the road over the past 20 years because of the wonderful community that exists around us – our volunteers, members, farmers, and food producers who continually amaze and support us. We hope you can celebrate with us!
